The 5,000-room Guangzhou International Health Station in southern China has been built in only three months in an attempt to keep returned travellers away from the densely-populated cities where the coronavirus pandemic first took hold in early 2020.

China plans to welcome the first overseas arrivals to the site in a matter of days.
